Home Learning

Learning at home is an important element of your child’s learning and here at Brooklands we use home learning to develop our children’s excitement and passions as well as helping them to practice skills with help from their parents.

We help parents support their children at home as they explore new subjects and areas of the curriculum.

We know from leading research that home learning has a huge impact on our children’s learning when it is used to support our children and helps them to rehearse and practice what they are learning in school and this extends to creativity and exploring the wider curriculum.

Home learning doesn’t have to be formal or onerous and can be incorporated into your family routine at times that suit your family and around experiences that you all enjoy sharing. The key is to make home learning a regular feature in your family, consistent and fun.

To support our parents, Brooklands has purchased a number of online programmes including Times Table Rock Stars, and Mathletics. These innovative, interactive programmes will enable our children to get immediate feedback on how they have done as well as inform their class teacher on the progress they are making.

Many of our parents tell us how much they enjoy supporting their children’s learning at home and finding new and exciting ways in which they bring learning adventures to life with their children.

If you would like to know more about supporting your child’s home learning please do not hesitate to speak to their class teacher for more information.
