Role of the Governing Body:
The Governing Body meets every half-term at a formal minuted meeting. Their key role is:
- To ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
- To hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff.
- To oversee the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
Governors visit the school regularly to monitor school progress against planned actions on the School Development Plan, as well as to check safeguarding and the budget.

Safeguarding
All school governors have a duty to share any concerns about a child with the school’s designated safeguarding officer who will then decide on appropriate action. The purpose of this arrangement is to promote the welfare of all our children.
